Dim Sum Haus

It was my first time eating at this restaurant, unfortunately it did not meet my expectations knowing that they are the oldest china restaurant in Hamburg. Their beef canton was bland only 2 stars, Lamb steak was fair 3 stars. Then 1 star for not redeeming our voucher from PaynowEatlater. They don't know how to do it or their system is just outdated. I dont recommend it.

Excellent Cantonese cuisine in town! Reservation is highly recommended because this restaurant is also very popular to the local community.

The most authentic dim sum experience we’ve had outside Hong Kong & China after living in the canton area for over 10 years. Highly recommend the peking duck menu for 2 people, second only to the real experience in Beijing. We will definitely be taking our friends to this restaurant rather sooner than later.

Went here last night with some colleagues as I'm over in Hamburg with work and the service was an absolute disgrace. The staff were so unbelievably rude to us on several occasions and it was very clear it was because we weren't German (heard one of the staff talking about us to another staff member calling us "the English"). We were nothing but polite and friendly to them (genuinely) but they made us feel so uncomfortable. We bumped into 2 Americans on the way out and told them not to bother eating there as the way they treat people is disgusting. The food was alright but nothing to shout about. Will actively tell people to avoid this restaurant.

Good food but service not at all. Peking duck wss great and dim sum too. We stand up and waited and the waiter just pass through us saying nothing, not even good evening. We got a table finally but they don’t speak English, at least it was good i spoke cantonese with them. We had planned for 2 months a visit to this restaurant and all sudden it was ruined just because the staff…

The service is professional and fast. The food comes however before the drinks. The restaurant has an old vibe with heavily decorated floor, ceiling and walls. All tables are properly separated with plastic shields and the staffs wear their masks properly. Food is mediocre though. Their price is not cheap (5€ for most of dumplings, 7€ for the dumplings in lotus leaf), yet the flavor is only acceptable. The BBQ related dumplings are too sweet, and the Xiao long bao doesn't have any soup in it and the dough is too thick. Mapo tofu reminds me of soft tofu in gravy sauce rather than a Chinese dish. It tastes not bad, but not what I expected.

We went to the Dim Sum Haus for, well, the dim sum... And we found them. The selection is large and varied considering that this isn't Chinatown. Quality was also good. The current 2G rules in Hamburg make it hard to evaluate the service since they have to check IDs and vaccination certificates as well serve... We think they're probably really good but suffering from the confusion. Anyway, all in all a good experience.

NOT RECOMMENDED The price ratio of service and food don't match up. 50EUR for a glass of cold beer as it should be, bone-dry duck, dehydrated rice, miniature wanton soup, salty Cheong fun, and an irritated middle age lady who always looks at me with her laser eyes every time she had a chance. There are many other good and authentic Chinese Restaurants around HBF and Dim Sum Haus is not one of them. Pros: the two young ladies are at least nice. That was.

Food is medium good. Dim sums and appetizers used to be better. Service is really rude and slow. As it’s always full they couldn’t care less

Very good yamcha in German standard! Very good food. Service is average. But good yamcha setting.
